RISING SINGER/SONGWRITER JAIRA BURNS PREMIERES MUSIC VIDEO FOR  "UGLY" Summertime Anthem Making Waves

Upscale Music Group/Interscope Records is pleased to announce the release of the accompanying music video to “Ugly,” the hot new single from rising singer/songwriter, Jaira Burns, premiered today on NYLON. Directed by Wiissa (Wilson Phillippe and Vanessa Hollander), the humorous clip was shot in Palm Springs and styled by Ann-Marie Hoang (Mstr Of Disguise).

“I know what I want and I'll unapologetically pursue it, even if it means breaking a few rules,” explains the blue-hair-blue-eyed beauty. Produced by Canadian hit makers, Cirkut and Billboard, the lazy, dancehall-tinged banger, has been receiving rave reviews since its official release less than two weeks ago. “Ugly” peaked at #13 on Spotify’s US Viral 50 and #20 on Global Viral 50. The track was placed in “Best Music Of The Month” at Amazon Music Unlimited and also premiered on Apple Music’s “Best Of The Week” playlist.

Born and raised in a small, rural town outside of Pittsburgh, Jaira has been working towards this moment since she was a teenaged songbird strumming her guitar and posting cover tunes on YouTube. A huge fan of Rihanna and Katy Perry, she describes her own musical sound as “dark, pop, gypsy, urban.” She says, “It’s like the brightest fuchsias, reds and purples; Very bright but it has dark elements to it.”

Her debut single, “Ugly” is currently available worldwide at all digital retailers.
