RAYE “THE LINE” VIDEO AND SINGLE OUT NOW ON INTERSCOPE RECORDS

The UK's most hotly tipped newcomer and pop superstar in waiting, RAYE, returns today with her brand new single ‘The Line’. An accompanying video premiered this morning on THE FADER. Listen to ‘The Line’ HERE and watch the video below.

Co-written by RAYE and produced by FRED, 'The Line' is a gold plated tune, full of character and featuring RAYE's unmistakable swagger alongside lyrics about the hassle of club queues on a night out.
RAYE says: "Going out clubbing gives you a cold dose of the expectation society has on women. To get into a club you have to kill yourself in heels, drowned in make up with a tight dress, maybe a bit of cleavage will help you out too. Me going as ‘myself’ wearing what I wanted didn’t cut it, you have to fit within the boundaries and expectations put on you. Watching all these casually dressed men waltzing past me in the queue really pissed me off, so I wrote this tune."

RAYE has already hit the UK charts hard, featuring on Jonas Blue's recent hit ‘By Your Side' and collaborating with Jax Jones on the MONSTER smash hit 'You Don't Know Me', which reached No.3 on the Official UK Singles Chart, has to date gone Platinum in the UK alone, being streamed over 100 million times.
The 19-year-old South Londoner has been tipped by everyone from i-D Magazine, BBC 1Xtra, and MTV, to The Guardian and the BBC Sound Poll (she came in third place last year). Her current resume includes two stellar EPs, writing credits on hits for Charli XCX, Snake Hips and Blonde and collaborations with Nas, on the soundtrack to The Birth Of A Nation, and with Stormzy on her track 'Ambition'. She has also supported Jess Glynne on her Arena tour.
RAYE's steady shift in sound and a move towards something more pop is all part of her masterplan. “I want to be a massive pop artist and I've always wanted to start in the right place so that's with the music I love. I've always wanted to do it in my own way, on my own terms. It sounds stupid but I want to be as big as I can be,” she states. “I want to be massive. I'm 19 and I'm just starting so let's go.”
