1. YK Benzi & Eightie8, the "Club Medellin" video was inspired by the jail that Pablo Escobar built in Colombia for himself. What are the pro's and con's of creating video s that are inspired by things like this? '
As far as Pros the obvious reasons are being able to to get across the creative vision of the song and creating dope visuals. I don't really see any cons. Maybe someone could argue that Pablo Escobar was responsible for a lot of crime and death in his country but at the end of the day that's what makes being an artist beautiful. We paint the pictures it's up to the ones consuming the art to create their own perception.
2. YK Benzi & Eightie8, you guys do a lot of shows. breakdown your show set and how long it took you to create that show set?
We don't do enough shows! We're currently working on that. We love performing and building sets with proper lighting and ambiance is important to us because it's part of the experience for the fans.
3. YK Benzi & Eightie8, what part does your lifestyle play in the creation of the music that you create?
Most of the music we make comes in the moment. When we first hear a beat we just freestyle to it and build off that. Usually whatever we're going through at that time when putting that song together will show in the music.
4. YK Benzi & Eightie8, when will you guys be touring and have you guys ever toured before?
We're fairly new at this so we've never been on tour before but that definitely one of our goals. Performing is life for us and being able to interact with people and see their emotions towards our music is an amazing feeling.
5. YK Benzi & Eightie8, talk about "Club Medellin" and how long it take to record this record?
Club Medellin was probably one of the most fun records to make because we were just vibing out to the song. If you actually listen to the lyrics there's so many gems in there. It only took about 2 hours to record. We had a few people in the studio who came in and heard the finished product and everybody was so hype for this record so we knew it was gonna be special.
