Artist Feenix Bipolar Pays Homage to Beloved Mother and Hometown with Album Lorna’s Son: King of Forest Park

Forest Park (Atlanta), Georgia – Artist. Musician. Troublemaker. Feenix Bipolar comes by his name honestly, curating his own blend of hip-hop that fuses a variety of styles; an eclectic sound that is catching the eyes and ears of many – even the likes of Shaquille O’Neil. Feenix discovered music as a way to relieve stress, and quickly discovered that writing poetry helped him purge his emotions. Soon, he realized his words paired well with other artists’ instrumentals and he began putting music to his lyrics. “I fell in love with the creativity and production,” he explains. Inspired by music powerhouses like Eminem and Kanye West, he’s empowered by their ability to create art and music without bending to public opinion. “That’s how I am,” Feenix continues, “I needed to get this out before I lost my mind. And, I learned to appreciate what I do and what I’m saying.”

The young artist has no choice but to express himself – it’s who and what he is, right down to his core. Music has been Feenix Bipolar’s salvation through struggles and triumphs: from his adoption at birth that left him feeling like an immediate outcast, to his relationships with women and friendships. In retrospect, Feenix realizes his music has seen him through the most important and influential times in his life. “It helped me grow up,” he admits, “Looking back, I listen to the songs I’d write and think, Man, I was going through a lot of crap.

His newest album, Lorna’s Son: King of Forest Park is a labor of love for the rising star. The album, released in January on all major digital platforms, pays homage to the life and death of Feenix’s mother, Lorna, who passed away in January. Lorna meant the world to Feenix. She was his mother, investor, and go-to confidante, so Feenix wanted to make sure his album did her justice, right down to the purple theme on the album’s cover. The album also pays tribute to the artist’s hometown of Forest Park, a nearby neighbor of Atlanta in Georgia. “It’s been a big move for the area. There’s no other artists from the area who are making moves like this,” Feenix says, explaining that his music serves as an inspiration to other up-and-coming artists, “I wanted to set an example for other artists to keep going, keep writing.”

One particular song off of the new album is “The Middle,” which tells the story of a relationship fated to end because of unruly behavior and addiction. (It’s unsurprisingly a true story, which the artist jokes should prompt a cautionary tale or two about the consequences of dating a songwriter.) Feenix Bipolar writes in “The Middle” about his ex-girlfriend, who had a substance abuse problem and heavy reliance on marijuana. “She needed it to get through the day,” he explains. “The song is about the second time around. She always needed marijuana and was tied up in old relationships.” Trapped between his love and her vices, Feenix may not have found a perfect love, but he did find the perfect words for a hit song.

Feenix Bipolar is a storyteller; with feelings like the weather, he’s telling everyone’s story.
