NY Recording Artist Fights Cancer with His Beard
The Beard Gang Raises Funds for St. Jude
Emerging NY rapper Modo, who is one of the
only artists capable of bridging the gap between hip hop and EDM music,
is taking on the fight against cancer with his beard. Modo decided to
let his facial hair grow last November during what some have come to
know as the “no shave” month for men. In an effort to use his platform
to raise awareness on behalf of St. Jude, he wrote and recorded “Beard
Gang” and subsequently released the music video which instantly went
viral. The Beard Gang vs Cancer movement partnered with Maestro’s
Classic, the leading Beard Care Product company sold in Target stores
nationwide, and together they raised over $2,300 for St. Jude’s “Walk to
End Childhood Cancer” fundraising event in New York City this past
weekend.
“I just want to help as many people as possible...” - Modo
Modo
is in a league of his own. His unique story as a sought after young
artist seeking to expand his career while fighting back against cancer
through his Beard Gang vs Cancer organization, puts him in a powerful
position of influence. His rapping style along with his philanthropic
efforts sets him apart from most artists who brag about their
accomplishments. Modo is gifted with the ability to inspire and motivate
others to rise above their struggles to achieve their personal and
professional goals. He is set to release his “Movember” EP on November 1st, 2016 while he continues to take the Beard Gang to the next level.
