Naimah Muhammd and Jasmyn Jenkins, the owners of 88luxx, have created the perfect platform to not only satisfy every woman's fashion mood, but they also personalize every shopping experience with the click of a button. What I enjoy most about 88luxx brand is that while most stores are geared towards specific groups of people, their boutique caters to everyone and their fashion must-haves. From ready-to-wear pieces, to vintage finds, and even custom pieces, I can almost assure you, 88luxx, has exactly what you're looking for.
Explain the name behind your brand.
88 Luxx represents the year 2 bestfriends were born, which signifies an infinite friendship and luxury lifestyle brand.
What inspired you all to open up an online boutique??
Our love for fashion and a business opportunity living miles away from each other that can keep us connected. With two diverse fashion styles across the United States we felt we could share our love for fashion and enjoy work by doing something that we love.
How/when did you all get started?
It all started when I was sitting in the car one day. Jasmyn was visiting Atlanta from California and we were both sad that she would be leaving soon and we would again be so far apart from each other. We'd always talked about opening up an online boutique but with both of us living so far apart, going to school and working full-time, we never had the time to execute a business plan. However, this time was different. We started by traveling to different show rooms for products, doing photoshoots in our backyards, and building our website on our own to finally be able to share our dream with the world.
Who did you look up to growing up or who do you look up to now, that you feel inspires you today?
Oprah Winfrey was someone that was an idol. She inspired me (Jasmyn) to be able to do whatever I wanted to do in life. She taught me that as long as you keep going and fighting for your dreams, that anything is possible. Sophia Amoruso, owner of NastyGal and author of Girl Boss, also inspired our business as a another young entrepreneur who is making big moves.

What separates you all from other online boutiques today?
We provide all aspects of fashion from street wear to vintage to ready-to-wear... The list goes on! We also provide opportunities for up-and-coming designers. We are a one stop shop!
Outside of just selling clothes, what else do you ladies offer service wise?
We also provide styling services, personal shopping and the ultimate 88luxx shopping experience which includes bringing the 88luxx store to the comfort of your home where the customer can choose either a 1 on 1 or group shopping experience where the customer can view our newest arrivals and exclusive pieces before it hits the site.
What’s been the hardest part about going into business for yourself?
Putting up the funds, being able to work efficiently with each other, staying organized and gaining the proper knowledge to run a successful business.
Do you think having a partner to work with has helped with business?
Yes, totally.
How do you all go about getting your work noticed by the right people?
Staying consistent and always marketing our brand.
If there was one other business you all could start right this moment together and/or separate, what would it be and why?
It's not really another business, but we would like to expand with opening a physical store location.
How has being an Entrepreneur affected your social life?
It has affected our life in a positive way to be able to connect with other successful people and share our enjoyment of fashion with others.
On your hardest days, what keeps you motivated to keep going???
Each other, honestly.
Why do you all feel it’s important to Own Your Own and go after what you want in life?
We feel it is important to work in a field that you love, and also be able to pass down a successfully self owned business to your children.
If you all had one piece of advice for fellow entrepreneurs, what would it be?
Never give up!
