As one of the founding producers
in the grime scene, Prince Rapid has a legacy of tracks to his name, from
Dizzee Rascal, Kano, Boy Better Know, Wiley, Wretch 32 to production credits
throughout fellow Ruff Sqwad compadre, Tinchy Stryder’s gold selling album.
However there’s more than meets the eye and if you switch back to the roots of
grime, you can catch this triple threat behind the mic as well as the buttons.
Having been largely responsible
for the tsunami of a grime wave that we see before us, Prince Rapid takes back
the mic and reminds us that once again, he’s the mic controller. Releasing
‘What’s Good’ as the introduction to his forthcoming 7-track E.P ‘Immortal’,
Prince Rapid comes in on a no-messing, no-nonsense tip. The track commands
authority and has a hard-edged, yet bubbling vibe. The beat has a darkness to
it that is taken in to a new realm as the cosmic synths flash through taking
this in to the club mode.
"I wanted to make this EP to show
all the grime fans old and new that the Ruff Sqwad sound which was created 15
years ago will never die and is still alive. That's the meaning behind the
title ‘Immortal’"
