The West Ghost just dropped a new album via his soundcloud and the music is moving and new. I appreciate an artist who takes time with his lyrics and his production Son of Sorrow EP is filled with calming melodies mixed with a hip-hop and soul particularly in the second half of the song. His mission is worthy wanting to bring authenticity to Hip Hop and share his story.
When asked about his unique approach,
The West Ghost says "In rap there's an obvious trade off between lyrical integrity and catchiness, and obviously trends move toward catchiness. There have been those that spoke from the heart like Immortal Technique and countless others who no one really listens to, and my goal is diminish that effect as much as possible. My goal is to marry substantive
(though sometimes sublte by necessity) messages and cohesive flows in an effort to make reason cool again."
