Brooklyn, New York rapper/singer/songwriter Haasha presents his new single “Beautiful”. The track is produced by Queens producer Enygma The Renegade, also currently working with Nick Freno, Leakz Lenin, Don Pay Yola Baby, Luke Greenz, VSTheReal, Ari Nova, Wise Angel, Ziplock Guap, Tony Hallows, KG4DD, Konflict and MD Holla. “It took me a few hours to write the record, but it took over 3 years to get the record to sound exactly how I heard it in my mind,” Haasha says. “It took blood, sweat, and tears & a lot of soulsearching. Writing the song was probably the easiest part. I don’t know about anybody else, but it’s always been easy for me to write from a place of pain. The song is inspired by a woman from my past. Until this very day, I still believe she’s the most beautiful women I’ve ever met. It bothered me so much to see her look for acceptance outside of herself and not know her true worth. The longer I sat with ARA & Enygma to complete the record, the more I realized that this song was just as much about me as it was about her. Everything I hated about her was only a mirror of my own lack of self-love and insecurities. I realize more than ever that without knowing your true value It’s impossible to pursue a dream. This song is not just for women. This song is for the world. I just want to tell as many people as I can that they’re beautiful.”

“Beautiful” has an expansive sound. How did you guys perfect it?

Honestly, ARA, Engyma, & myself focused on how this song made us feel more than anything. I think that's what we went by the most when trying to perfect the record. We knew that by the time the song was complete, we wanted it to bring tears to people's eyes. We aimed to move people emotionally.

How did you connect with Epiffanati?

These dudes are like my brothers. I went to high school with them. I met ARA playing basketball, so before he even knew I could rap and sing, he saw me dunk it on a few people’s heads. I sat at the table and ate dinner with ARA's family before an Epiffanati even existed. That's how far our relationship goes back.

What’s your feeling on the state of the NYC rap scene?

I’m a fan of anybody who came up out of New York. Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$, A$AP Rocky and the Mob. Those dudes inspire me! I actually went to high school with ASAP Ferg, and even though I didn't know him personally, I can't help but be super proud of him, because seeing what he's been able to do lets me know that making it in this game is not impossible. Much love to everybody putting on for our city.

How do you feel about this presidential race?

I haven't been keeping up with the presidential race. I've never been big on politics and I doubt that I ever will. When people in office continue to break promises year after year, it really makes you wonder "What for?" That's why figuring out what you came here to do is so important. It's our own fault that we're not more successful in life. If your only focus is money, failure is imminent. Whatever you do, do it for the love! Because if you don't build your dream, somebody else will hire you to build theirs.

Any shoutouts?

Shout out to God, man. Shout out to anybody operating from a place of love despite living in a world built on fear.
