While many people vowed to leave bad habits behind in 2015, Jeu Green hasn't quite dropped them all. The L.A. artist marks his 2016 return with another THX Beats-produced single titled, "Drink Up, Smoke Up." The personal track becomes Jeu's ode to everyday vices, but also serves as a warning to the pitfalls of these very same vices.
"Drink Up, Smoke Up is an ode to our vices. When reality requires an escape we all turn to something to alleviate those stresses. Some people have powerful, healthy methods of dealing with stress while others choose to deal with it the old fashioned way.
I wrote the song originally to a different beat. During one of our sessions, I played X the demo version and he thought the words were dope, it just needed a more powerful beat. So, I bounced an accapella version for him, and right in front of me, X jus starts going to it. He crafted the beat within an hour or two, listening to every word making sure the emotion of the lyrics matched that of the music." - Jeu Green
