Bronx, New York emcee G.C. a.k.a. Godz Chyld presents “Get It Started”, the new Dizzee-produced single from his forthcoming full-length T.I.M.E. (To Improve More Everyday). The song comes on the heels of his EP Don’t Sleep On Me (listen) as well as Forever, his collaboration EP with Killah Priest/Tragedy Khadafi producer Jordan River Banks (listen on Bandcamp). Speaking on the new single, G.C. says “I figured a hype track would start things off right so once I heard the beat I got creative and experimental trying new flows, it’s a new sound and something to get things started off right.”

After lots of interesting singles we finally received a visual from GC. What is your approach to creating videos?

I brainstorm with my director first and see what we can come up with to represent the song in the right way then we go from there and start shooting and this is just the beginning. We have a lot more videos coming soon.

You have a diverse set of styles that you work with musically. Do you find that your listeners appreciate your versatility or prefer that you stick to a sound?

I love experimenting with different sides of my personality, I love every style I have I guess you could say my Book Of A Scribe and Forever style has been the most popular and that's also my favorite and most personal and honest style. There's honesty in every creative turn I've taken but I'm a very spiritual person and that's a big part of my life and when I share that side of myself it resonates with people well and you'll definitely hear more of that side from me very soon, mixed in with the other styles I have. The whole idea is to experiment with different sides of myself and utilize the best of every style.

What’s your outlook on social media in terms of a musical marketing tool? Important or overrated? Why?

Social media is how I get plays on my music mostly so I see it as important. It makes it easy for me to reach people that I'd never be able to reach otherwise plus get feedback from people straight up. I'd say it's important plus it's more convenient for my generation and the younger generation to get their music out there.

What’s your advice for other rap artists trying to come up?

My only advice is don't stop and keep pushing because that's exactly what I'm going to keep doing.

What do you plan to do differently in 2016?

I plan on dropping more music and more videos too, I'm already working on my next project because I don't stop but there will be more videos coming for people to see and get familiar with me.
