HI-TONE was born Tony Valenzuela on May 13 in West CovinaCalifornia. His parents divorced when TONE was about 10 years old caused by his fathers alcoholism and abusiveness. The divorce entitled his mother full custody. They moved 3 blocks away from his father and over 15 years later, TONE has only seen his father maybe a hand full of times in the streets.

His stage name is derived from Ritchie Valens, a Mexican American singer, songwriter and guitarist that passed away in a plane crash with rock and roll musicians Buddy Holly and J.P. Richardson in 1959. Ritchie used to call himself HI-TONE before his mainstream career took off. TONE and Ritchie share the same last name, birthday and ethnicity. So it only made sense to use HI-TONE as his stage name.

TONE started recording music at 15 and started getting tattooed at 17 years old. His body is now over 90% covered from head to toe. Besides a musician, TONE has been tattooing professionally for about 6 years now, he is also the CEO of a worldwide movement/brand called "Top Of The Food Chain". TONE is the epitome of an Independent entrepreneur. He cites 2 Pac, Wu Tang, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Too Short, Brenton Wood, Santana and Sade as musical influences.
