About Young Truth Young
Truth, born William McMillan on September 20th 1988, spent his early life in Staten Island, New York before moving to Harlem at the age of two. Harlem is widely known as the home of the Apollo where many legends and musical icons were born. In his era, Harlem was known for hustlers and drug dealers. Young Truth was able to use his music to help him escape his troubles and stay away from the negative influences in his neighborhood. At age 18, Young Truth began taking his career in music seriously as he focused on his growth by learning how to produce his own music. Adding a tremendous performance capability to his repertoire, Young Truth began to set himself apart as he became known for his energy and showmanship.
His catalog includes three mixtape releases, It's My Turn Vol. 1, Truthfully Speaking and Tunnel Vision. Young Truth's major influences include Jay-Z, Biggie, Tupac, Wu Tang Clan, Rakim. Support from his family, peers, and community has also played a large role in his advancement as an artist. Today showing a maturation that coupled with his promise has many talking about what an impact he can have on the culture, Young Truth has stayed relevant by creating from the heart. Targeting his demographic he has branded himself and along has come great expectation. His empowering lyrics give motivation to a generation in need of hope amidst the unsettling times upon them.
