Rapper King Sole Releases Video For The Need

Jordan Christopher King, (b. March 21st, 1993) better known by his stage name King Sole formerly Sole Blind, is an up and coming hip-hop entity born in Lefrak City of Queens, NY and raised in the Ravenswood Housing Projects of Astoria. Known for his versatile approach to hip-hop music, he has the ability of crafting a radio friendly track to the table with up-tempo production, hook-friendly and focusing on socially conscious issues from growing up in the projects and the poverty that he may see before his eyes matched with a boom-bap beat. No matter what the style of production it may be, Sole jumps on a track and makes it his own.

Embracing music at the early age of 9 years old, Sole joined the St. Rita’s Elementary School Choir amidst writing poetry on his spare time, then playing bass drum for his school marching band. As a music patron it was rare that Sole would listen to hip-hop, however, that was until he heard the album of an artist from across town on the Southside of Queens, 50 Cent and his pivotal “Get Rich or Die Trying.” Looking at this as a turning point in his life, from that moment he became a “hip-hop junkie” as he titles it, Sole began digging in the crates and researching hip hop greats from the past to assist on perfecting his own musical craft. Sole cites artists such as Nas, Notorious B.I.G., Tupac and Jay-Z to be his biggest influences, meanwhile still looking up to newer artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, and J. Cole just to name a few.
