In 2009, he teamed up with Exponent Entertainment based in Philadelphia. This propelled JAY GRIFFY more heavily into the Philly scene and soon, collaborations with artists like DJ NoPhrillz, SAP the Producer, Gillie Da Kid, Black Deniro, Quilly Millz, ApeGang, Nico the Beast, MIZ, E.Ness, Young Savage, and more developed with local radio support.
It was not long before JAY GRIFFY was gaining notoriety on-line and started catching the attention of West Coast artists like St. Laz and Red Rum. It quickly became apparent that JAY GRIFFY'S strength lies not only in writing lyrics but in assembling full tracks, including writing strong hooks and selecting the perfect beats. In 2010, Marlin Barrier head of Sound Barrier Experience, a live multi-faceted band in Philadelphia, heard JAY GRIFFY. In a rare, perfect moment, JAY GRIFFY got on stage with Sound Barrier experience, and it was of no surprise JAY GRIFFY became part of the band.
