Hip Hop On Deck Exclusive Interview With Anjali World

1. You just dropped a single called "Perfect Storm" what is the concept behind that record?

It's about the ups and downs of a relationship and how you can overcome any obstacles because in the end the love between you both is the Perfect Storm.

2. How long did it take you to record that record and where did you record it at?

It took a few days and we recorded at our studio here in LA.

3. If you were to do a remix for "Perfect Storm" what three female rappers would you put on the remix and why would you put them on it?

Eve, Left Eye and Nicki Minaj.

4. Perfect Storm is off of your upcoming EP called "Save The Wild" what is the concept behind this EP and what do you feel this project, is going to do for your brand and career?

I believe it will give a people an inside look at me and what I stand for. Not just my music but my love for animals and the work I am doing to make sure they are protected. The music speaks for itself and I hope people can see how we can all use our talents to make an impact for a bigger cause. All the proceeds are going to animal conservation for my non-profit Jaws & Paws.

5. When you look back at the work you have done on this Save The Wild project. How does it make you feel emotionally and what do you feel, it will do for music as a whole?

It's so fulfilling, it's hard to describe. The fact that I can have influence on people through music, reach wide demographics, and make an impact while doing something I love is unreal.

6. How long have you been doing music and what made you was to start making music?

I started doing music through my mother and brother. My mom was always singing as she used to be a performer, and she plays several instruments. My brother was a producer who made beats for local rappers in the Bay Area. Their combined love for music fueled me to start singing. I started making my own writing and music consistently while I was in college at U.C. Berkeley. I would work at local studios and I produced my own mixtape. After networking a lot throughout the industry I finally met my producer and manager Super Dave who is with the Grammy Chapter. He linked me with Nick Cannon and I've been in the industry every since. I am very fortunate to be around a group of such wholesome people, especially in such a brutal industry.

7. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

I see myself having won multiple Grammy's and Jaws & Paws being a major non-profit.
