Washington D.C. - As the D.C. rap scene continues to grow, from the
back-packing sneaker head style of Wale, to the grittier street sounds
of Fat Trel, the culture introduces its own freshmen to the game via
Louie Black and Vedo. The District natives are riding high after the
city sees one of its biggest years in rap culture.
Louie Black, recently completed the second installment to his Fear Louie
series, told Ms. Kat of The Middle Class 90 that Fear Louie 2 took
almost a year to complete. Black says this project is “a great mixtape”
and that he approached it from different angles and perspectives than
the previous Fear Louie. Black also alludes to his GSE movement (Goon
Squad Ent) stating that in his fifth year in the game, he not only feels
better, but stronger as well.

Vedo, meanwhile spoke his success performing with Shy Glizzy, saying the
interview took place right after his return from performing in Memphis.
He states that his union with Glizzy Gang and Shy came about after he
left Bike Life Ent, due to police pressure and lack of communication
between himself and his manager. Both interviews also touched on the
“crab in the barrel” attitude that is so prevalent between DC area
artists. For Black, his two favorite area rappers aren’t the ones that
first come to mind; it’s his GSE fam, Lil’ Riley and EZ the Kid. Vedo
states that he would like to work with more underrated and unknown
artists from the area, and that he stays out of rap beefs because he
doesn't want to promote other artists for free.
Louie Black and the GSE Movement will be on touring the District and surrounding areas with a show kicking off on June 20th, at the Getaway Lounge in Waldorf, MD. He can be reached via his Twitter page @TheRealLVBlack and on Instagram @LouieBlack_GSE.
Vedo says there are plans to release a Glizzy Gang mixtape featuring
Shy Glizzy later this summer, but no official date has been announced
yet. Vedo can be reached on twitter @VedoGlizzy. The interviews are available on The Middle Class website
