"In Cold Blood (feat. Pusha T) (Twin Shadow version)"
Today, alt-J debut the video for "In Cold Blood (feat. Pusha T) (Twin Shadow version)". Starring Pusha T and directed by Osean, the clip takes the viewer into the hazy digital world of REDUXER. The album was first hinted at last month when Pusha T and Twin Shadowboth joined alt-J for a performance of "In Cold Blood" on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, before swiftly releasing the studio version of the collaboration.
"Pusha and alt-J have two completely different styles and coloring them together makes for an interesting sound" explains the director Osean. "Instead of representing the 2 more so as a person to person, I decided to represent them as more person to experience, or person to land. The way Pusha is acting in the video is the same way I feel he acted in the song. He flows through the song as his experience in someone else's world trying to find his place. And so in the video during the alt-J part, I wanted Pusha to basically experience alt-J the experience. "
REDUXER is a set of 11 reinterpretations of songs from alt-J's third album RELAXER,reimagined by a wide variety of hip hop artists and producers. The album will be out onSeptember 28 on Canvasback/Atlantic.
alt-J recently shared the Alchemist x Trooko version of Deadcrush, featuring Danny Brown.Additional contributors include GoldLink, Parisian rapper Lomepal, Berlin hip hop artist Kontra K, Irish rapper Rejjie Snow, Australian artist Tuka, Puerto Rican rapper PJ Sin Suela, and London's Little Simz.
